The Vortex Damper is a device used to control the flow of gases or particulate materials in ventilation systems, ducts, or industrial processes.
It consists of an adjustable opening that can be manipulated to regulate or interrupt the flow of air or particles. Commonly used in piping for dryers, coolers, air cleaning systems, mechanical draft, chemical processes, furnace exhaust, mine ventilation, gas recirculation, among others.
Recommended for starting exhaust fans and blowers when there is a need for no-load starting in the drives. They are often installed at the fan inlet as energy-saving devices when airflow needs to be modulated or run for long periods of time with reduced flow. Effective in reducing fan load at startup or under conditions with varying air densities.
